Mam loved the water, and when she was young, she would spend many happy hours in Brynaman Baths. She would be the first in and last out and would come out with blue lips and shivering all over, but she loved it.
Mam took us to the ‘Baths’ every summer where she taught us to swim and watched us jump/dive off the high board. When we had children we continued this tradition of spending our summers in Brynaman Baths.
Her passion for making sure people experienced the benefits of swimming led to her organising a minibus, every Friday night, to take children and parents from Brynaman to Neath Swimming pool where she taught many of them to swim.
It would be great if her great-grandchildren could continue this tradition and feel the joy of jumping onto Brynaman Baths. We wish you every success in this venture.
